Children’s Cancer Partners offers care and support to the families we serve through four key focus areas:
Many families need help with paying for travel to cancer treatments and meals and lodging while they are there. At CCP our primary focus is to ensure that families have the resources necessary to get their child to the most appropriate care possible whether it is here in the Carolinas or through a more specialized program in New York, Atlanta or elsewhere. Through the generous support of our donors CCP helps to meet these needs and lessen the financial strain so parents can focus on helping their child fight the most important battle of their lives.
By providing funds for travel, lodging and meals,
we help open the doors to critical treatment for the children we serve.
In addition to financial help, many families need assistance with making travel arrangements and accessing other resources during their time of crisis. At CCP our staff often help parents manage the overwhelming details and tasks that come with coordinating and gaining access to care for their child.
We link families with other organizations that can provide help and resources as well.
We also offer parents financial literacy training so they can better cope with the financial challenges that accompany caring for a child with cancer.
CCP hosts events and activities throughout the year that provide an opportunity for children and their families to connect with others who are battling cancer. Parents receive advice and support and often offer helpful tips to each other while children bond with peers who share similar challenges. Events and activities are designed to bring joy to the children and make them and their entire family feel loved, supported and encouraged.
Held each summer, Camp Victory is a unique summer camp experience designed just for the children served by CCP and their siblings. Camp Victory allows the children to put their day-to-day battle with cancer on hold and enjoy a brief respite and sense of normalcy for a bit as they trade their typical schedule of doctor’s visits for summertime fun. The three-day camp offers CCP families the opportunity to make memories while uniting with others who share their challenges. Children receive the chance to participate in activities such as fishing, exploring nature and enjoying hands-on crafts and games. Camp Victory significantly encourages families and provides a reprieve from the intensity of all they are dealing with.
Camp Victory celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017!
